Coordinator, Communications & Investment – 14 month contract (Maternity Leave)

United Way Waterloo Region Communities (“UWWRC”) is currently seeking a full time Coordinator, Communications & Investment (“Coordinator”) to become a part of the Team reporting to the Senior Director, Community Investment and the Senior Director, Marketing & Communications to provide support to the teams.

As the Coordinator, you will be providing administrative and project support to the Community Investment and the Marketing & Communications departments. The Coordinator ensures that all processes, activities, and meetings are well organized and functioning at a high performance level while providing excellent customer service both internally and externally. The Coordinator will also manage projects from start to finish and ensure projects meet external and internal team customer needs and deadlines.

Key responsibilities include supporting event management, including the internal workplace campaign, Annual Campaign kick-off, the Spirit Awards and the like. Other key responsibilities include support and coordination of Community Engagement activities such as Day of Caring and Seeing Is Believing Tours, and providing support to the Community Investment team related to funding processes and activities. This role also includes providing back up to the receptionist role, continually reviewing internal processes to identify and implement improvements, while promoting the values of United Way.

You are an extremely focused individual who works well both in a small team and individually, who is organized and uses a well-established process of planning and organizing workload. With excellent time management, you have a clear sense of priority with flexibility to respond to shifting needs. Efficient, resourceful, and professional with great customer service skills, you’re confident in working collaboratively with all team members and volunteers, and capable of working under pressure. Your excellent data entry and attention to detail skills are key to success in this position, as well as competency in Microsoft Office applications.

You have three years or more experience in a related field and an ability to understand information in preparing reports and mass electronic mailings. You are comfortable working with computers, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook e-mail/calendar. You have strong attention to detail, accuracy, and efficient organizational skills and apply a customer service-oriented focus in all situations. You are able to maintain composure, confidentiality, and the discreet handling of sensitive information.
