GenNext Waterloo Region Communities

GenNext is United Way Waterloo Region Communities’ initiative for inspiring and mobilizing young professionals who are passionate about creating change locally. Through our events you can learn about the issues affecting Waterloo Region and discover ways to make a difference. Follow us on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook to stay up to date on all things GenNext. You’ll also find lots of photos there from previous events and experiences.

GenNext Neighbourhood Walk

Many of the issues that are becoming increasingly more visible in our community – issues like poverty and addictions – all share the same root causes. A lack of affordable housing. A history of trauma. Barriers that disproportionately affect marginalized members of our community.

How do we tackle these issues at their root? What role can each of us play? What can we gain from getting involved?

“This work has enriched my life unlike anything else I’ve done before.” – John Neufeld, Executive Director, House of Friendship.

Join us for a conversation about the transformative power of getting involved to change the status quo, followed by a meal at the Charles St. Men’s Shelter. Featuring John Neufeld (Executive Director, House of Friendship), Victoria Toman (Housing Manager, House of Friendship), and Christian Snyder (Community Ambassador, Smile.io).

A very limited number of seats are available for this intimate engagement. Click here to register today.
